Heat transfer in the flow of a cold, two-dimensional draining sheet over a hot, horizontal cylinder

The paper considers heat transfer characteristics of thin film flow over ahot horizontal cylinder resulting from a cold vertical sheet of liquid fallingonto the surface. The underlying physical features of the developing filmthickness, velocity and temperature distributions have been illustrated bynumerical solutions of high accuracy for large Reynolds numbers using themodified Keller box method. The solutions for film thickness distribution aregood agreement with those obtained using the Pohlhausen integral momentumtechnique thus providing a basic confirmation of the validity of the resultspresented.
